47th ABAV International Tourism Expo and 52nd Braztoa Business Meeting present their 2019 edition, which is renowned as one of the largest and most important business events in Brazil. As it congregates the entire tourism chain, it plays an important role in transforming the sector by bringing people together and providing the domestic market with a fresh and contemporary look at the global travel and tourism industry.

The event is held in an inspiring environment that values and stimulates the growth of all segments, empowering professionals by providing new ideas, contacts, technologies, tools and business opportunities and by anticipating trends and market transformation processes, as these take place in an increasingly fast and impacting manner.

The event is organized and conducted by the Brazilian Travel Agencies Association (ABAV), which is present in 26 Brazilian states and in the Federal District. ABAV’s members include 2.2 thousand travel agencies, operators and consolidators and these account for 80% of all domestic sales. For the sixth consecutive year, ABAV relies on an important partnership with the Brazilian Tour Operators Association (Braztoa), which holds its traditional Business Meeting at ABAV Expo, valuing the fair due to its importance.

Designed to identify and meet the different demands of the tourism production chain, especially those of travel agents, as they are the main travel distribution channel in Brazil, ABAV Expo contributes to a different way of thinking in an ethical way. This vision guides its 2019 edition and makes it a definitive moment for tourism to build up strength and connect with the latest global challenges.

Collaborative Space
This year, ABAV Expo offers exhibitors a novelty: the Collaborative Space. A wide area comprising stands from 4 to 25 m², strategically located next to the buyers’ club and the business round tables. The stands are sold at reduced prices that feature discounts from 30%.

By launching this new option, ABAV Expo aims to offer potentially new exhibitors and traditional ones who have participated in shared stands an opportunity to present their brands in a proper area.

The Knowledge Village is an initiative that aims to share knowledge and train tourism professionals at ABAV Expo. During the three fair days, workshops, panels, debates and lectures by market experts are offered at a dedicated area to visitors for free, featuring current topics of interest for the various segments that make up the tourism chain.

The Knowledge Village concept was developed during the first editions of the fair, then called ABAV Congress, in the 1970s. At that time, ABAV and industry leaders used to meet to discuss the tourism market. The fair format has evolved and resulted in a major national and international business event. Today, the Knowledge Village is an essential space for tourism experts and professionals to discuss and update their knowledge and skills.

In 2018, 74 events were held at the Knowledge Village by 121 speakers, totaling 3,991 trained professionals.

This year, the Knowledge Village offers five thematic arenas: Digital, Management, Market, Technology and Transformation.

The ICCABAV (ABAV Training and Certification Institute) is in charge of curating the Knowledge Village contents. This year, as a novelty, we receive important contributions by mentors who help us choose the most attractive topics.

Knowledge Village

Airtkt (Brazilian Association of Air Ticket and Travel Service Consolidators) has a strong presence at ABAV Expo. The association represents the largest Brazilian companies of that sector and focuses on promoting travel agencies and the distribution of airline tickets.

ABAV Expo’s public, mainly travel agency professionals, has shown great interest in Airtkt’s solutions and its consolidators.


Clia (Cruise Lines International Association) is the authority and largest association of the cruise industry worldwide. Its Brazilian representation has strongly supported ABAV Expo and takes part in the fair to represent this fast growing market in Brazil.

Simultaneous Events



The free transfer shuttle taking visitors to the 47th ABAV EXPO leaves from Portuguesa-Tietê subway station and stops at the Tietê Bus Terminal, as well as at the airports of Guarulhos (GRU) and Congonhas (CGH).


The Connectivity Lounge is equipped with power outlets, allowing visitors to recharge their devices. It also offers them an Internet connection so that they may follow up on their e-mails and agreements during their visit at ABAV Expo.

The Lounge provides a comfortable atmosphere that encourages networking and talks with both new contacts and long-time business partners at the fair.
